Green Tsunami Alert

On 3/22/2011 9:44:29 AM UTC (about 19:18h local time) an earthquake of magnitude 6.6 occurred in the unpopulated region of Tohoku in Japan. The earthquake happened 196km from Moriok. (source USGS National Earthquake Information Center)

It is likely that a tsunami was generated. The maximum tsunami wave height near the coast of Fudai will be 0.08m (source JRC - GDACS)

BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA A DESTRUCTIVE PACIFIC-WIDE TSUNAMI IS NOT EXPECTED AND THERE IS NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO HAWAII. REPEAT. A DESTRUCTIVE PACIFIC-WIDE TSUNAMI IS NOT EXPECTED AND THERE IS NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO HAWAII (Source NOAA's National Weather Service)
